5 Natural Wines For £25.00 or Less in the UK - Vol. 2
This month’s roundup of my favourite natural wines, on the cheaper side, available right here in the UK.
Koppitsch, ‘Rozsa 2021’
Note - despite the crown cap this is a still wine.
Beautiful wine! Featured a little bit of spritz to this when first trying in May 2021. An ideal summer wine with peppery note dancing with watermelon and vanilla.

I must admit the ‘Rozsa’ 2021 vintage produced by dynamic, Austrian natural winemaking power couple Alex and Maria Koppitsch is in with a massive shout of being the best wine on this list. £19.00 for a pure energetic, mouth-tingling experience is a bargain. I recently drank this wine at Alex and Maria’s house in Nieusiedlr after helping out with some harvest season grape picking. I shit you not; it tastes like boozy passionfruit juice, the ‘Rozsa’ is a must-purchase, especially considering the retail price.
Denavolo, ‘Dinavolino Bianco’
Dinavolino is a blend of Malvasia di Candia Aromatico, Marsanne, Ortrugo and an unidentified local variety - giving broad spectrum floral and fruit character alongside tannic structure and pithy texture.
A floral, acidic, intensely aromatic skin-contact white wine produced by Giulio Armani who you might be familiar with from his natural wines under the label ‘La Stoppa’. The perfect midweek table wine! Sometimes you just can’t go wrong with a simplistic table wine on a Wednesday night, and in that situation, I would highly vouch for a bottle of Denavolo’s ‘Dinavolino Bianco’.
Barouillet, ‘Splash 2021’
Click Here To Purchase - £22.0
Barouillet’s ‘Splash’ 2021 vintage is light, delicate and ideally suited as a sparkling aperitif, no need to drink it alongside food. Made from 100% Semillion grapes, you best believe this bubbly delight proves as an inoffensive, fantastic palate cleanser. The ‘Splash’ is bottled before its fermentation is finished and the rest of its work is carried out in the bottle. This a perfect example of how a Pet-Nat should be made.
Vini Rabasco, ‘Cancelli Rosso’
Not your typical montepulciano here as this is much much lighter than you might expect. Ruby red in the glass, the wine has aromas of red fruits, in particular Morello cherries and plum. The palate is smooth with good acidity and a wonderful brightness. Can even be served lightly chilled if you are that way inclined.
Lip-puckering, fresh strawberry notes on the first mouthful with the ‘Cancelli Rosso, followed by deeper tones of what comes on the nose i.e minty, grass flavours. These characteristics give the ‘Cancelli Rosso’ a noticeably medium-bodied essence, best enjoyed on a full stomach after a warming, hearty plate of food.
Delinquente, ‘Weeping Juan Pet-Nat 2021’
Delinquente are producing wines of vitality, freshness and intrigue from the Riverland region of South Australia. Fermented in stainless steel with wild vineyard yeast, the wine was bottled under crown seal to finish ferment, resulting in the Petillant Naturel, lightly sparkling style.
Con-Greg’s (the winemaker) aim with his Australian natural winery is to make wine that is pure, drinkable and delicious, let me tell you, he has nailed that brief with the ‘Weeping Juan Pet-Nat’!! Pure vibrant summer fruits is the feel with this sparkling wine - guaranteed to uplift you out of the winter hump.
I hope you enjoyed this list guys.
Please, tell me about your experience if you buy any of these wines and stay tuned for Vol. 3.
